With the Enterprise plan, you can delegate Goals and Actions to the right team to execute without the access to the team. This feature ensures your strategy is consistent and progress is clear across the entire organisation, allowing you to improve a culture of transparency in your Enterprise.
In this article, you will learn how to set up and delegate Goals in Workfacta with examples.
Set up before delegating Goals/Actions
To delegate a Goal or an Action to another team, you must have at least two teams set up on the platform first and then set delegation permissions - which team sends and which team receives delegated Goals/Actions.
Set Delegation Permissions
First, go to Setup on the main menu; under the Teams tab, select the team you want to set delegation permissions for (the team that can delegate Goals) and click Edit from Options.
Example: set delegation permissions for Management Team
Then, in the pop-up window, you will see Delegation Permissions. You can select any team in the drop-down menu to which you wish to delegate Goals/Actions.
Example: Management Team has the permission to delegate Goals/Actions to all teams in Company 2
Now that you've completed the setup, you can start delegating Goals/Actions in Workfacta!
Delegate a Goal in action
After you set up the rules for delegation in Workfacta, you can now create new Goals/Actions or edit existing ones and delegate them to the right team to execute.
Create a new Goal and delegate it to another team
Go to Quarterly Planning - Goals in the main menu, and set up a new Goal by clicking the blue plus icon.
After you put in the description, Owner, and due date, you can select 'Delegate to Another Team' and specify which team the Goal is delegated to. Select an assignee from the team to receive the delegated Goal. The assignee is responsible for updating the Goal's progress. Once the assignee has updated the Goal, it will also reflect automatically on the Owner's dashboard.
Example: A new Goal, "Team efficiency", is created for Management Team and delegated to Operations Team, and John Smith is assigned for updating the Goal status
In the example above, a new Goal, "Team efficiency", is created for Management Team, and the Owner is Yves Zac. The Goal is meant for Operations Team to execute and achieve. Therefore, it is delegated to Operations Team, and John Smith is assigned to update its status. The Goal will show on both Management Team and Operations Team's dashboards.
The blue icon indicates that this is a delegated item.

Delegate an Action
Similar to Goal Delegation, once you've specified the delegation permissions in the Team setup, you can create a new Action, edit existing ones, and delegate them to the right team.
The delegated Action will show on both sending and receiving teams' dashboards so that you can view the latest progress of a delegated Action in one place, with more transparency and saving time from switching teams on the platform!
