In Workfacta, Numbers are the metrics that the business wants to collect and report regularly in meetings about the operational health of the business.

Assigning Numbers to the team members allows you to keep track of how the business is performing; and, at the same time to always understand which individual in the team is responsible for the performance.

In this article, you will find how to create and assign Numbers in a team, and some common pitfalls to avoid regarding the issue.

To assign a Number to a team member, you need to ensure that, either the Owner or the Updater of the Number has access to this team. The Owner or the Updater must be invited and added to the team, otherwise, you can't see their name in the drop-down list when creating the Numbers.

  • In this example, you are in the Leadership Team, so you can create and assign a Number "Golf ball ordered" to Catherine Aragon, who is also a member of this team, as you can see their name in the Owner drop-down list.

Assign Numbers to a team member

  • You won't be able to assign a Number to a user who is not on the team. In the same example, if you want to assign the Number "Golf balls ordered" to Adam, but their name is not in the Owner drop-down list, then it means that Adam is not a member of this team. To solve this, you can switch to the team of which Adam is a member, and assign them the Number, or you can add Adam to the Leadership Team.

Note: a member of a team is able to see all the content within the team. To limit their access within the team, you can customise their permissions on the SETUP page > Users

To be able to create and view a Number for a team, you need to log into that team. This is a common question asked by the Platform users when they have multiple teams to manage in one company.

  • In the same example above, when Catherine logs into the Leadership Team on the Platform, they will see the Number "Golf balls ordered" assigned to them. If Catherine is a member of both the Leadership Team and the HR Team, they won't see the Number "Golf balls ordered" when they log into the HR Team.

Note: to know which team you log into, see the top left corner of the Platform.

Therefore, to be able to assign a Number of "Weekly golf ball sales" to Adam in the Leadership Team, you need to -

  1. log into the Leadership Team

  2. make sure Adam is on the Leadership Team

For Adam to see the Number, they need to log into the Leadership Team.
