The Platform helps you translate your strategic vision into an Annual Plan and break it down into four Quarterly plans to keep your goals realistic and manageable.

In Workfacta, you can use the Quarterly Planning feature to record your roadmap to achieve your Annual Plan. Follow these 3-steps to learn how to create quarterly goals.

Step 1. Create Goals in Quarterly Planning

On the main menu, go to Quarterly Planning > Goals from the main menu and then click on the blue plus button to set up a goal.

Specify a team member responsible for updating the status of the goal, and set a due date in this quarter. You may also link this quarterly goal to the existing annual business goal so you know you're working towards the strategic direction.

For best practice, update your goal status weekly.

Step 2. Assign Actions to Team Members to Achieve the Goals

For your newly set Quarterly Goal, you can create practical Actions to contribute towards achieving it. Click on the "ACTION" button to start.

Enter a Description and make it clear and concise. Give it a deadline (due date). The Owner is the team member who is responsible to deliver the action. You may want to change the action priority (low, medium, high).

Note you can customise the action recurrence if it's an action you do regularly.

For example, you need a reminder to approve your team member's timesheet on the last Friday of each month, you could use the Recurring Action feature so these actions are created automatically for you by Workfacta.

Step 3. Set up Numbers to Measure the Progress of the Goal

The Numbers feature allows you to keep track of the important metrics that help you make decisions along the way to achieving your goals.

Go to Quarterly Planning > Numbers from the main menu and then click on the blue plus button to set up a number.

Describe the number you want to measure. For example, the percentage of sales closed every week.

Next, indicate what your desired result type is and set a target. In this case, we'd like to be above target, and we'll set the weekly target at 50%.

  • However, if we were tracking wastage per month, for example, we might choose the result type "below target".

You can also set a different target for each week, or not set any target at all.

You now need to select the Number type - for example, "Percentage"; and select the frequency at which you will want to update the value of the Number. Weekly updates are an excellent place to start. You will now need to designate an Owner from the team and an Updater responsible for updating the Number.
