An essential part of being a high-performing team is collaboration and information sharing. For this, you should hold regularly scheduled meetings.

Workfacta provides a framework that helps you hold effective meetings.

Follow through the eight tabs sequentially to give structure to your meeting.

So how does that work?

You’ll need to start your meeting, so select New Meeting from the main menu.

This brings up the meeting page which is divided into tabs matching the various stages of an effective meeting.

You will now be on the Launch Meeting tab.

Before starting the meeting make sure you have selected the Documentor and also the Convenor if they need to be changed.

And then select Start Meeting.

This starts the meeting and moves you to the first section of the meeting dealing with News items.

Follow the progression through the stages of the meeting to maximise your productivity. When you have addressed all the items for the current section of the meeting, select the next section.

Having talked about the News items, you progress through

  • Goals,

  • Numbers,

  • Reports,

  • Actions,

Don’t get bogged down in these sections.

If there are decisions to be made, click the Discussion button and then sort through the detail in the Discuss and Agree section.

The Discuss and Agree section of the meeting is where decisions are made, see the video on Resolving Discussion items for more information on that.

Finally, we get to the Meeting Close tab.

Here you give the meeting a score for how well you think it went.

You may also have suggestions for improving the meeting next time, if so, add them here.

Now close the meeting and you will be taken to the Team Performance Graph page so you can see how you are performing.

The Workfacta platform will create the Meeting Minutes and email them out to you automatically.
