Add Notes/ Explanation to Your Updates

Add context when you Update a Goal status, Number result or upload a Report.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When you make an Update to a Goal status, Number result or when you upload a Report, you can add a note/explanation that gives context to the Update.

Adding notes/ explanations to Updates helps keep everyone on your team informed and aligned. Instead of guessing what changed or why, everyone has the same context, which supports better coordination and faster decisions.

How to add notes/explanation?

There are two ways you can add notes/explanation when you update Goals and Numbers. You can add a note/ explanation when:

  • Receive a pop-up window when making an Update that is off-target. Generally, adding a note/ explanation is not compulsory and you can save without adding one. However, if the Number or Goal was configured to Require Note, then the Updater will be forced to provide one.

  • Alternatively, click the icon (see below) next to the Number or Goal you want to add a note/ explanation to, regardless or whether it is on or off-target. The icon will change colour from grey to blue when the notes/explanation are saved.

How to review notes/explanation added?

You can review available notes/explanation of off-target Goals and Numbers in Workfacta Meetings.

Notes/explanation will show up automatically in your Workfacta Meeting Agenda after you add them. They will also permanently appear in the feed for the item.

  • Go to the New Meeting page, navigate to the Goals and Numbers tab in the Meeting Agenda, and then you will see any notes/explanation created for off-target Goals and Numbers, respectively.

Example: Review a saved note/explanation in Workfacta Meeting Agenda

You can also review any notes/explanation provided in the Meeting Agenda emails and the Meeting Minutes sent to your inbox.
