You often need to keep track of items like Goals, Numbers, and Reports for a longer period, usually for a quarter or multiple quarters if these items are recurring. To help you track these items' progress in Workfacta, the new Feeds feature will allow you to filter them by Financial Year, Quarter, and Week.

This article will show you how to track the history of Goals, Numbers, and Reports on the Platform by filtering Feeds.

Filter a Goal, Number, or Report's Feed by Financial Year, Quarter, and Week

Feeds sidebar

When you open an item's Feed sidebar, it shows a detailed history of actions, updates, status changes, and more related to the item.

In an item's Feed sidebar, you can:

  • have an overview of the item performance in the current period

  • have a detailed history of the item

  • create new Feeds items (comments, links, and attachments) for the item selected

  • filter the item's progress by Financial Year, Quarter, or Week

A Number's Feed sidebar

An item's history in the Feed sidebar is displayed chronologically, with the latest update at the top. As you can see in the Number's Feed sidebar above, a new comment created against a Number in Q4 is shown at the top of the Feed history.

How to read Feeds thread

For a Goal, Number, or Report in Workfacta, you can filter its Feed history by Financial Year, Quarter, and Week to track changes to the item within a financial year, a quarter, and a week.

To filter a Goal, Number, or Report's Feed by Financial Year, Quarter, and Week, click on the blue drop-down arrow in the item's Feed sidebar, and select how you'd like to filter the Feed.

Filter Feeds by Financial Year and Quarter

In this example below, you are reviewing the Q4 goals of Financial Year 2022 on the Quarterly Planning > Goals page.

For the quarterly goal "set up CRM and create a CRM strategy", you can filter its Feed thread by 'All', 'FY2022' and 'FY2022 Q4' to track how the goal has progressed since it was created ('All'), in the current financial year ('FY2022'), or the current quarter ('FY 2022 Q4') only.

Example: filter a quarterly goal's Feed by Financial Year and Quarter

You are able to see a detailed update history of each item, including status changes, comments, links, and attachments added. It means that if you have recurring quarterly Goals, Numbers, or Reports, you are able to track their history since they are created.

Filter Feeds of a recurring item

In the same example, the quarterly goal "set up CRM and create a CRM strategy" is a recurring quarterly goal. By filtering its Feed by 'FY2022', you can track the full update history of this goal since it was created in Q3 of the Financial Year 2022.

Example: filter the quarterly goal "set up CRM and create a CRM strategy" by 'FY2022'

Now, you are able to see how this recurring quarterly goal has been updated in Q3 and Q4 of the Financial Year 2022.

Filter Feeds by a specific year, quarter or week

Sometimes, you just want to see what's been updated for an item for a specific time period in the Feed sidebar, but you can't filter it with the blue drop-down arrow.

To solve the problem, simply click on the time period that you want to review in the Feed progress thread.

In the same example, by clicking on any of the blue Q3 icons, you can view activities that are related to this goal in Q3 only.

Example: view the Feeds items created for the Q3 goal "set up CRM and create a CRM strategy"

In summary, Feeds will allow you and your teams to add comments, links, and attachments to your items in a much more organised way, allowing for easier project management. It also helps you review the execution of your plans for a team and give you the bigger picture.
