Why Delegate a KPI?
A Delegated KPI (Number) is created in one team and assigned to another team to update and manage. The initiating team sets the target and expectations and keeps full visibility, while the delegated team is responsible for reporting progress. This ensures the KPI is owned by the team best placed to influence it, without losing accountability or transparency.
Delegation is helpful when:
Another team is responsible for the work behind the KPI
The KPI supports shared or cross-functional areas (e.g., Finance, HR, Operations)
You want updates without having to chase or switch teams
A delegated KPI appears for both teams, making reporting aligned, consistent, and easy to track.
Who Can Delegate a KPI?
Only teams with delegation permissions can delegate a KPI. Permissions are managed in:
Setup → Teams → Select Team → Delegation Permissions
If delegation isn’t available:
Ensure you're logged into the correct team
Check delegation permissions have been enabled
Why Can’t I See the Team I Want to Delegate To?
If a team is missing from the dropdown, update delegation permissions:
Go to Setup → Teams
Select your current team
Edit the delegation permissions
Add the team you want to delegate to & save.
Once saved, the team will appear in the delegation options.
How to Delegate a KPI
Create or edit a KPI (Number).
Select Delegate to Another Team.
Choose the team being assigned the KPI.
(Optional) Select a specific user in the receiving team as the updater.

How to Tell If a KPI Is Delegated
Delegated KPIs display a delegation icon across key views including:
Meeting agendas
Update screens
Number (KPI) homepages
Dashboards
Hover over the icon to see both:
The owning team
The delegated-to team
Well done - you’ve now set up KPI Delegation and enabled smoother, cross-team accountability tracking.
